Lauren Holderness

Founder & Project Leader

Lauren brings years of marketing experience and a passion for knitting sense out of question.  Her work spans market research, strategy and advertising, and it has earned her a reputation as an incisive, creative researcher and a skilled manager of people and projects. 

Lauren founded Compendium 14 years ago based on a desire to explore all of the possibilities and deliver the best results to clients. She is able to see things from various–sometimes conflicting–angles and develop customized, thoughtful strategies based on the voice of the customer. Clients love her perennial curiosity and ability to convert ideas into actionable insights. She truly believes that the harder you work, the luckier you get. When Lauren isn’t helping clients achieve their goals, you can find her spending time with family and reading historical fiction lakeside!

Erin Slater

Project Leader & Researcher

Erin brings over 15 years of experience in market research, consumer insights, and product innovation, along with a genuine passion for understanding how people think, shop, and make decisions. Her background spans retail, foodservice, and consumer products, and she is known for blending qualitative depth with quantitative rigor to translate complex behaviors into clear, actionable direction. Prior to joining Compendium, Erin led insights for several national and global brands, earning a reputation for her strategic mindset, trend awareness, and ability to turn data into compelling stories that drive results.

Erin is appreciated for her curiosity, collaborative approach, and commitment to delivering thoughtful, practical insights rooted in the voice of the customer. She believes great work comes from listening deeply, asking smart questions, and staying endlessly curious. When she isn’t helping clients uncover new opportunities, she’s spending time with family and friends, or planning her next vacation adventure.

Josh Holderness

Researcher & Business Development

Josh brings a fresh perspective to market research after over two decades in the hospitality industry. He’s able to approach each project with a big-picture mindset, while also never losing sight of the details that drive success. 

Josh joined Compendium after a successful career in restaurant development, management and consulting. He deeply understands the needs and wants of consumers, along with the logistics of running a multi-location business. An avid learner, he never stops asking questions and enjoys exercising creativity and problem solving for businesses across many different industries. When Josh isn’t gaining new insight for clients, you can find him cooking for friends and family, dreaming about his next round of golf or working outside in his garden.
